  • Cal Ortho Institute Staff

I just wanted to take the time and thank your staff for not only helping me with what seemed like a minor request to most, but I wanted to comment on their entire demeanor. We all get wrapped up with so much in our daily lives that we tend to take some things for granted. I did not take how well I was treated by your staff for granted. The front desk was always helpful on the phone and in person. Very nice!! And Julia in your records department was absolutely helpful and just as nice to me.

Please take the time and let them know how much I appreciated being treated like a person. It sounds a little strange to say that, but it means a lot to me. Thank you again and I hope all of you have a great day!

  • BILT SHOULDER

I'm not sure where to start with my wonderful experience today at California Orthopedic Institute. So I figured I would make this review my step by step process.

I received a call from the office letting me know that I have a referral to be seen at the office. Never ever have I had an office call to let me know they have a referral for me to come to the office, usually I'm having to call offices several times to see if I can be seen. I was scheduled in a timely manner as well as treated kindly and they allowed and answered all of my cares and concerns.

I arrived to my appt and was so thrilled to see such a beautiful , clean, modern and organized office. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello, as I was very nervous for my first appointment. The kind gal at the front desk helped ease my worries and assured me that I was in good hands, and I cannot agree more, keep reading ...:)

I was then called for my appointment on time by a very friendly and happy gal who introduced herself to me. I'm sure she could tell how nervous I was. It was such a reilef to have my nerves settled when I started speaking with her and she explained to me what may happend during my visit. As I was brought back to the patient rooms, I noticed very cute holiday decorations and it was so cute to see an office in the spirit. I walked back with her and seen other gals smiling and making me feel at ease. I was then taken into the exam room and was treated with such care, kindness and assurance. She explained everything to me. It really helped my nerves even more.

I waited maybe 6 mins if that for the DR to come in. He was very kind and friendly as well as professional and knew what he was doing. He reccomened I get recent xrays in which I was very thrilled to know they have xrays on sight. I waited maybe 4 mins and a sweet, happy & kind gal came and escorted me to get an xray. I was then explained everything very clearly and kind from the xray tech, I have had many xrays in my life and never has anyone been so patient with me. As well as taken so many shots of my problem areas..he took what the DR asked of him and then I was escorted back to the exam room by the same sweet gal.

The DR then came back in about 4 mins and explained to me what the plan to move forward will be. I agreed and bonus is, they have an MRI on sight. So I am able to get it done at the same place. Good ol insurance has to ok it and then I will be able to go to the same office. He also stated that he would like me to make an appointment to give me the results. I thought that was such good patient care, in the past at offices I will not mention, I have only gotten a quick phone call and no questions asked.

Now I just wait for my referral from my insurance company :)

Overall my experience was 100% plus incredible and I have seen plenty of doctors. I highly recommend everyone to the office. Esp if you are nervous or scared. You are in good hands.

**** I prefer to leave names out of who I seen at the office for my privacy.******

  • Right knee ACL injury

I came to Dr.Adsit after having a bad surgery some where else. I was in a lot of pain and I had a lurch limp. I was working full time and over time on constant pain and my knee was swollen all the time. I was referred to Dr. Adsit and on my first visit he was very caring in regards to my pain. Dr. Adsit preformed my second surgery which he had to undo what the first doctor did. I have not been able to walk with out a lurch limp in a year in a half.I no longer walk that way. The pain is not like before at all. I can work with out having to sit every 20 minutes. I am still pending another surgery since I have no ACL and I wear a custom brace that he ordered for me but I completely trust him. He addressed all my concerns. He made me feel comfortable and his assistant Mary is amazing. Everyone in this office has always been very nice and flexible. Dr.Adsit gave me walking like a normal person back which I had lost for a year in a half. I wear a brace have some pain but we are not done yet. I know he will get me as close to 100% as he can. He is also very gentle and he listen's which to me is very important. Thank you Dr.Adsit and to all of your staff. God bless you guys.

  • My orthopaedic patient care experiences at Cal Ortho Institute

I have been with my service dog Alee to your facility numerous times and have talked with Joan on several occasions. I'm writing this because I feel it is Important for you to know how I feel about the care that I have gotten from your staff over many years. Although each doctor that I have seen, and their assistant, all do an outstanding job of tending to their patients, I have to sing my praises of Dr. Tontz and his assistant Sori Benson. Dr Tontz is very personable, explains procedures etc. in a way that I can understand, and is the nicest, most honest, respectable, down to earth person that I have had the privilege to know.

And then there is Sori, I don't know where to start! I used to work with an Orthopedic Surgeon in the 80's, for 15 years, and in that time I learned how to give of myself, be helpful, caring and always wear a smile, as most patients are frightened, in pain, and need reassurance that their course of treatment will be very helpful. These are the natural, God given qualities that I see in Sori , who radiates warmth, caring, and a sincere desire to help others. What stands out to me also is Sori's ability to stay on top of everything that Dr. Tontz asks her to do. I've watch her as she happily and eagerly does her job in a professional way. I have called Sori on numerous occasions needing her help, on one matter or another, and she gets right on it! Dr Tontz and Sori are top notch, and have shown concern and compassion for me and my sister, Nancy Olson, who has been a patient of theirs for years. Nancy has expressed to me that she feels the same way that I do about these truly extraordinary people and we feel very grateful that they're in our lives.

With deepest regards,

Janet B

  • carpal tunnel, ulnar nerve transposition, trigger finger

My husband and I have been treated by Dr. Peterson for many years. We have both had numerous surgeries performed by Dr. Peterson. He is always attentive and really listens when we see him for our appointments. I never feel rushed and am always able to ask questions and know that he will give a knowledgeable answer. I would recommend Dr. Peterson to anyone who us having hand or arm problems. He is a very kind and understanding doctor.

  • Hardware removal

I must say, as far as the Tontz Family is concerned, Healing and Compassion are a Family Tradition!! I have been treated by both Father and Son and I was given not a thing to complain about!!! Both Father and Son obviously take the Hippocratic Oath very seriously!!

I had a broken lower right arm, which due to a combination of health problems and my not caring properly for my arm, the fracture ended up as a 'non-union', which then became infected.

I had already been informed of the possibility of amputation, but Dr. Tontz Jr., I guess, saw hope in me and considered perhaps, the emotional toll that the loss of my arm would be more than I could bear. ( I am pre-dominantly left-handed, but am extemely ambi-dexterous!)

But he decided to remove the hardware and save my arm!!!

My arm, while it will never return to 'normal' is useful to me again!!! That, to me, matters a whole lot!!!

I am EXTREMELY Grateful to Dr. Tontz Sr. AND Dr. Tontz Jr. for their professionalism, compassion and 'bedside manner'! LOL!!!

:)

  • microfracture and hardware removal

You will not find a better doctor. Dr Quinn is the kindest most caring doctor I have ever had. My surgery was performed outpatient he removed hardware and did a microfracture of my ankle he even took the time to use stitches instead of staples so scarring was minimal. I have seen Dr Quinn for many issues and I hope I never have to leave his care. You will also love his office staff. Sincerly Danette

  • Hand Surgery for Tenosynovitis (trigger finger)

I've been a patient of Dr. Mohler for about 15 years now. He has done the "trigger release" procedure on all but two of my fingers. Every time I've had him do the surgery at COI the staff has been great! They are very friendly and make me feel relaxed. At the same time they are very diligent with their procedures and thorough with getting the information necessary to make sure I have a pleasant as possible experience. I want to thank Dr. Mohler and the staff at COI for the ability to recover quickly and having a pleasant experience instead of a traumatic one.

Dear Dr. Quinn,

Hope you're doing well today. Recently my husband changed our insurance to Kaiser which means that I will no longer be your patient. This does not bring me joy because I was very happy and pleased with the personal attention you gave to me the entire time I was your patient. Thank you from my heart for being first a very nice human being and my excellent "foot" doctor....thank you for your service, time, sense of humor, and treating me so special....
